So this is only half done-- I have some gold and silver paint to overlay bits of it with to make it stand out. But when I posted this to facebook as a WIP a lot of people liked it, so I figured I'd post it here too.
This is acrylic paint on a cheap acoustic guitar. What I love about paint is that I only have 4 colours, but I can make all these shades! Whereas if I was using my pencils I'd be using all 42 different hues to do all the gradients. Just goes to show, I guess.
Please excuse crappy photo, it's 11.30 pm here and we have rubbish lighting in our lounge. And if I keep a drying guitar in my room I'll inevitably faceplant into it at some point and spoil it. And my face.
